Kurt Wolfartsberger is a Senior mechanical engineer with more than 40 years of experience in hydropower all over the world. He has studied mechanical engineer at the Technical University in Vienna (Dipl.-Ing.) and was afterwards employed by todays ANDRITZ HYDRO GmbH; he started in Research & Development for Axial turbines (Bulb & Kaplan) and was later responsible for technical sales of all types of hydraulic turbines as a department manager and vice president. He retired end of January 2010. His experience is mechanical design and layout of all types of waterturbines and other equipment for hydropower plants. Today he runs a consulting bureau in Steyr, Austria.
